November 29, 1854 - strayed onto the premises of George Fitzgerald at 241 John Street "on Friday night a sow which pigged that night". Owner could claim her and pay all expenses incurred. If not claimed within the week she was to be sold to cover expenses.

In October 1868 George Fitzgerald's bar at the corner of Bridge and John, Ward 5, was the meeting place for the 5th ward musketeers street parade.

1871 Directory Fitzgerald, George, liquor, John and Bridge, Conover & Van Dyke, home 25 John. Thomas Fitzgerald listed at the same addresses.

George Fitzgerald had a saloon at #16 Bridge Street in 1870. Among other things he served whiskey. There was a bar brawl in his establishment in March 1870 when one person was arrested for assault.
