Note:
Thomas Cassin and his wife, Anne, were born in Ireland circa 1842/6. The were in Williamsurg, Brooklyn in 1870.
By 1875 they were in Red Hook running a saloon at 307 Van Brunt. Thomas
died in 1885 and Annie continued the business.
Two of their daughters became school teachers. One of their sons became an insurance adjustor
and another bacame a lawyer.

Became a municipal Court Judge, died of a heart attack, at age 75 in 1954.
Born June 6, 1881. Graduated Adelphi College and New York Law School.
Survived by his wife, Florence. Brother Albert died in August 1851. Two sisters, Margaret and Anna "died many years ago."

broke in through a rear window and took money and liquor.

and lives upstairs. While going
from the store to his
apartments early this morning
be fell downstairs and fractured his right leg.
He was take to St. Peters Hospital.

In 1894 there was a potential case of small pox reported at 309 Van Brunt - in a three month old.
1896: 307 Van Brunt: A "hot discussion over the Venezuelan question"
resulted in a fight between to men where one cut the other in the face with a
dust pan resulting in a cut in the artery with perfuse bleeding.
