GOEHLE INTRODUCTION

Peter Goehle

Frequency of the Goehle Name in the United States Records

There are no other Goehles in any of the census in New York City in 1880, 1900, 1920 and 1930. These are the censuses that are open to the public and cover the period of time after Peter Goehle's immigration. There were Goehles in up-state New York around Buffalo, but they do not seem to have any connection to Peter Goehle.

In 1997 Peggie Goehle Edgar received a letter from Al Goehle, 900 Rolling Hills Drive, Lake Havasu, Az 86406 Phone 520-680-7603 E-Mail=Alger@ctaz.com or ALGER@CTAZ.COM.

He said he was born in Buffalo, as were his parents and grandparents. He had researched the Goehle family in the Buffalo area and was looking to connect his family to the Goehles on Long Island. He said that his family of Goehles immigrated to the area in the 1860's. He included a chart which indicated that Karl Gottlieb Goehle (born 1783 in Elsterberg, Saxony, died 1867) was the father of Christian Lebercut Goehle (born Elsterberg 1813 died Buffalo, NY, 1894) and Christian Lebercut Goehle who had five children:

  1. Albert Goehle (born 1849 Elsterberg died Buffalo, no date)
  2. Marie Goehle (born Elsterberg c 1856, died Tempe, Az. Married Jungermann)
  3. Franz Lebercut Goehle (born 1838 Elsterberg died 1915 Buffalo, NY)
  4. Gustave C Goehle (born Elsterberg, died Elsterberg)
  5. Carl August Goehle (born Elsterberg 1836 died no place 1911)

I have the genealogy of this family in the Goehle paper file. However, there does not appear to be any connection between this family and Peter Goehle.
