Magasis on Sheriff Street (1925)

Steve Magasis emailed me in December 2005. His dad, Lester Magasis, lived at 97 Sheriff Street in 1925. Steve sent a copy of a vaccination certificate from the New York Department of Health stating that Lester Magasis age 6 months of 97 Sheriff Street was vaccinated on April 29, 1925, Baby Health Station, 263 Stanton St, Manhattan. Steve also included a picture of what he believes in 97 Sheriff Street in the 1950s and two pictures of his father.

I found a old, pre re-development, map of Sheriff Street and environs on a odd but amazing website about forgotten streetlamps. (Specifically, on a page about a lamp called a "Sheriff's Star"): Forgotten Street Lamps
