Mary Erxmeyer Rosenthal

HOME - Blanck Introduction - Henry and Dorethe Erxmeyer

Birth, 1866 Walsrode, Germany, to Heinrich and Dorothe Erxmeyer

Maria Juliane 12 February 1866 daughter of Heinrich Wilhelm Erxmeier and Johanne Dorothe Marie Hogrefe Meinerdingen, Walsrode-Vorbruck (Ev.- Luth. Kirchengemeinde Walsrode Febuary 2006)

The US records indicate:

  • According to the 1900 census she was born January 1866
  • According to the 1905 New Jersey State Census, she was born November of 1865.

Immigration

  • Based on age at arrival she could be the Mary, age 6, who immigrated with Wilhelmina in 1872
  • In the 1905 state census Mary Erxmeyer Rosenthal indicated that she had been in the states for 35 years. Which would mean she immigrated around 1870.
  • In the 1910 federal census Mary Rosenthal indicated that she immigrated in 1869.

The Mary Erxmeyers in the Immigration Records

The immigration records indicate that there were two Mary Erxmeyers:

  1. Mary who immigrated with Whilimina Erxmeyer in 1872 and listed as being 6 years old. This would mean she was born circa 1866.
  2. "Marie" who immigrated with Charlotte Erxmeyer in 1871. Listed as age 9 years old. This would mean she was born circa 1862. Given the limited number of Erxmeyers in the US this may have been Berthe born in 1860.

The Marriage of Mary Erxmeyer and Ernest Rosenthal

Mary Erxmeyer and Ernest Rosenthal were married sometime around 1881. I have not found this record in either the civil or the church records. The church records are missing for this time period.

I checked in both the bride and groom index which cover the estimated years of the marriage.
