The 1841 Census The following descendants of Michael Sheard were listed in the 1841 census. Squire Newsome Squire Newsome, the son of Hannah Sheard and Abram Newsome, was listed in the 1841 Census in Batley as follows:
Elizabeth Sheard Parr Elizabeth, the daughter of Michael Sheard and Sarah Barber, married Benjamin Parr in 1799. She was listed in the 1841 census at Howley Mill in Morley ED1 (LDS microfilm #0464238) as follows:
Morley ED1 was described as " "All that part of the township of Morley which lies on the west of the Wakefield Bradford road comprising part of Bruntcliffe, Scholcroft, Howley, Howley Park, bounded on the west by the township of Batley, on the south by the township of Soothill, and on the north by the township of Gildersome, and extending from the boundary below Bruntcliff bar to the point at Schol's house Stumpcross and from the Wakefield and Bradford road to Howley beck."There were 61 houses (2 vacant) 162 males, and 141 females in the district. Samuel Parr Samuel Parr, the son of Elizabeth Sheard Parr, was listed in Upper Batley in the 1841 Census as follows:
