Death:
1890 NYC Police Census
A federal census was taken every ten years. Unfortunately, the 1890 federal

3 months were listed at 88 Sheriff street. This was also the home Kate's mother,

Notes on the death of Charles Beyerkohler: -
Mark Soltysiak said the family story was that Charles died at age 21 in a fishing accident.
There is a tendency to romanticize stories over time, especially when it relates to death at a young age.
-
It is possible that Charles Beyerkohler developed pneumonia after having been out fishing.
-
Pneumonia is an inflammation of the lungs usually caused by a viral or bacterial infection.
- Pleurisy is an inflammation of the membrane (pleura) that surrounds the lung. It generally involves painful breathing, coughing, and a buildup of fluid in the pleural cavity.
- Katherine's sister, Minnie Lindemann Goehle, and her family including Catherine
Furst Schwarzmeier Lindemann, lived at 88 Sherrif St from 1890, where they were listed in the 1890 NYC Police Census,
until
at least 1894 when her son, Frank, was born.
